How Does MSL Fire Check Work..?
This simple demonstration is a good visual aid. Two strips of canvas were used one was treated with mslFirecheck, and one was left untreated
A Simple Test
With in seconds the untreated piece of canvas caught fire
The second piece of canvas was treated with a fine spray of firecheck.
The treated canvas was exposed to a naked flame for 4 minutes, canvas begins to blacken, during this time no flames are able to form or the canvas ignites.
Treating absorbent materials with mslFirecheck creates an invisible, fire retardant layer instantly,
When exposed to a heat source mslFirecheck forms a carbonized shield deflecting heat.
What Firecheck Will Not Treat..?
Firecheck will not treat any water proof or water repellent material i.e.
- waxed cardboard
- Plastics
- Waterproofed fabrics
- Painted surface
- Varnished surface
- Rip stop Nylon
- Any non water absorbent material
What about Re-treatment..?
There is no need to retreat the item with mslfirecheck, once it has been applied it remains and The treatment lasts for the useful life of the
article or material treated. Re-treatment is recommended if the treated fabric or article gets wet or is washed in any way or if the material is subjected to heavy
use, MSLfirecheck is a water based product and if it comes into contact with water the fire
retardant strength is compromised, this is why re-treatment is highly
recommended
